When I opened up my next armor build to voting a few months back, it wasn’t really a contest. The AFV Club Achilles took an early lead and never came close to giving it up.
Early on, it looked like the aircraft voting would go the same way, with Trumpeter’s F8F-2 Bearcat grabbing a strong lead out of the gate. A few others, led by the Tamiya Spitfire Mk.VIII, started to close the gap, but the Bearcat held onto its slim lead.
Until the last few hours.
Over Friday night, the Spitfire overtook the Bearcat and opened up a commanding lead, holding it when the polls “closed” on Saturday morning.
So the winner is…Tamiya’s 1/32 Spitfire Mk.VIII!
Look for a build log to kick off once the Sopwith Pup moves closer to the finish line. I’m planning to blow this one out!
Doogs Models 
Looking forward to this one as its on my ‘to-do’ list. My vote however went to the Cyber Hobby BF109e. I am making that myself right now and it would have been good to see it with the ‘Doog’ treatment!

Hey Ian – I’ll try to make this one special – as expensive as this kit is, I don’t think there’s really any other way to approach it!
The C-H 109E is still very much on my list…I just have too many aircraft I want to build! I figure it can coast a bit, though, since I’m still not that far removed from the Eduard E-7 yet. You’ll have to share pics of yours as it comes along!
As for the airbrushes – I’m a big fan of the Harder & Steenbeck Evolution. But…I’ve still only used the .4mm needle, which sprays wider, IMO, than the Iwata .5mm. Looking forward to trying out the .2mm, but I haven’t had the need yet.
I like the Badgers as well…they definitely feel solid in the hand, and the Renegade Velocity is especially great in the handling department. Haven’t tried to nail really tight lines with it yet, but I used it last night doing some rib shading on the Pup and it performed very well. Not quite as sold on the Patriot yet. It’s a fine brush, but I find myself preferring the H&S so far…
