Back in mid-July, I learned I was being laid off.
Thus began a furious job search, seemingly endless permutations of my resume, numerous phone and in-person interviews, and even a full-blown final presentation. I even, early on, turned down a job offer because I had two far more interesting opportunities in play.
The process was slow, tedious, and at times infuriating, but yesterday, I accepted a job offer for an awesome position at a really exciting company. With a nice little bump in pay, to boot!
I start next Wednesday, and to celebrate, I decided to splurge on some armor kits I’ve had my eye on:
Not sure when I’ll get to them, but with a move coming up shortly, I’m planning to pull out one and maybe more armor kits to work on while the bench gets broken down and packed away. Figure I can work on the construction with a pretty minimal selection of supplies…
congrats on your new job!
Just adding to the plethora of congrats I’m sure you’re receiving on the new job [ & a pay bump to boot ].Further, good luck on moving.Having done it a 1/2 dozen times during my “Corps” years, then another 7-8 times since, you have my empathy. The excitement of a new domicile soon fades in a flurry of missplaced important items [ modelling stuff, being on top of course ].But ,it’s all survivable, eventually. Best wishes, keith r.
Woo Hoo, Doogs !! … Congatulations on your good fortune … look forward to hearing how you like the new job and new digs once you get your feet back on the ground …
