P-51B Mustang – “The Hun Hunter ~ Texas”

Vital Stats

  • Manufacturer: Tamiya
  • Scale: 1:48
  • Aircraft: North American P-51B Mustang
  • Markings: “The Hun Hunter ~ Texas” | Lt. Henry Brown | 354th FS | 355th FG | 8th Air Force | April 1944
  • Aftermarket: Ultracast wheels | Ultracast seat | Ultracast prop and spinner | Ultracast flaps | Eagle Strike decals

Tamiya’s 1/48 P-51B was the first kit I built on my return to modeling, and now two years later, it’s just as good as it was then. It’s a simple kit, stretching across two whole sprues, but it’s extremely well detailed and engineered. Everything looks great and everything…just…fits. Overall, the Tamiya -B is one of my favorite kits, period, and I know I’ll be building more of them in the future.
